Ahhh CHK, I see you are more "resilient" than Cramer. He created the top at $40+ and then last week said to switch outta da common stock into the preferred so that you will be there when the dividend gets eliminated....very sound advice indeed. You'll be fine with CHK, since you haven't felt any pain as of yet yer probably just numb. As Maaatha would say, that's a good thing! For the resta ya's I'd get out on tamarrah's rally to or through 30.50.

Default Synthetic Natural Gas from Carbon Based wastes: SYNI

in the "oil stocks are going higher" camp..

I don't know about the commodity itself, which I don't trade.

But the $XOI is headed for a new 52 week high, in the next three months.

NXY is my favorte individual play.

Put me in that camp too. And I'll one up ya and say the commodity is going higher as well. It could go up or down in the interim depending on geopolitical events, but we're 3 months away from the summer driving / vacation season and we're starting from a higher base than last year. I say last years high of $70 gets taken out in the next 7 months.

My oil stock is SU. Whether it be this year or 5 years from now, this stock is the place to be with it being the largest player in the oil sands industry. It's got growth as they discover better and more efficient ways to get at the bitumen which is more than I can say for XOM or BP. While the majors are running out of oil and finding it difficult in quasi-socialist nations that want a chunk of the royalties, SU is just getting started.

I agree 100%..

Don't forget, the Hurricane Season starts again in July.

The last two have been dooseys with Ivan, Katrina, Rita, and Wilma

other oil sands plays that I like trade on the Toronto Exchange: WTO, UTS, and CLL

(NXY has oil sands exposure as well)

9 out of 10 scouts said "Over that hill General Custer, I think they're friendly indians."
I gotta agree though, with the political situation unlikely to really improve in the middle east ( been trending negative there for around 1200 years) and the russians unpredictable, a piece of the action in a safe location seems a pretty safe bet. I'll keep a piece of my long term action in the sector.
