Default Google buys Youtube

Man google can go fu(k themselves these days. If their own projects fail they just buy out a similar one. So weak. And not to mention not so good for the internet to have google in control of everything.

A few things here that need correction.

1) I think that Google is buying YouTube not because google video wasn't a success, but because they can better organize the millions of videos that are hosted on the internet everyday.

2) Google is NOT weak. They are a very powerful organization in the internet field.

3) Google buying YouTube is a great deal and a win-win for everyone. Users will have a better organized site to surf, traders will benefit from stock, Google benefits from traffic, and YouTube gets 1.6 billion.

So before you smacktalk google for making deals, think about it.

Its simple.

I don't think they will have much problems with copyright issues.

If they are notified, they take the material down.

Plus, they are signing a lot of content deals with major labels.

There aint no compulsory license for video. You got to work your way up the long tail , one at a time. Licensing each. Thats an impossible job, which is why the webcasting and related industries have fought for compulsory licenses.

Its not the big companies they would have to worry about the most. Its the little guy. Youtube would get sued by the thousands of rights holders who will seek the maximum amount per download from Youtube for their content.

This is where Youtube is really screwed. Youtube doesn't stream. They use progressive download. So the damage claims are going to be per download and ginormous.
